Disability Services Division moving: check at UCP in October and schedule from there; move to 1220 W. Vliet (County Offices) week of 9/19/05

 

Introductions

 

I.                    DD Coordinator: Sandra Butts - In Madison: no provider vacancy meeting; contact pick up for CBRF and AFH services 9/12/05

II.                 General Issues:

A.     October 6-8 Fondulac ARC conference

III.               Reports

A.     Treasurer's: Tom Nowak

1.      $2700

2.      $750 request from MTI conference; voted & YES on donating

3.      October for dues collection for 2006/statement - new fee $30 - will post on website

4.      Funding available if membership fees are too high

B.     MTI - John Rathman

1.      70 people signed up - lower than expected; not many locally

2.      Donations have been $2300 plus packer/brewers/jewelry etc.

3.      543-3004 ext. 106 John - call to talk re: registration fee

4.      Could split staff if cannot sacrifice a staff for 2 whole days

5.      Exhibits available at conference

C.     South Eastern WI Training Initiative - Martha absent

1.      9/8 Supportive Opportunities (today)

2.      9/29 2 PM Ives Grove Next Meeting

D.     Transition: Hope absent - not met for the summer

E.      Transportation: Cheri Bruch

1.      More people sending in forms

a.       2 recognition

b.      1 complaint

2.      Fuel cost concern: one company will no longer go to south side as a T-19 provider due to reimbursement not covering costs

F.      Health Disparities - Perry Mueller

1.      stirring committee meeting 9/8 afternoon

2.      need stories, grabs or issues for examples

3.      need more steam/loosing moral

IV.              People Can't Wait

A.     Quality Assurance Team met with committee - looking for volunteers to help work with new developments

1.      Quality of life or dollar based/budget

2.      @006 RFP significant changes; satisfaction survey; electronic billing as past of contract

B.     Disability Services/Dept. of Aging Conference

C.     Budget/County Ex        59 Mil deficit (personal pension & healthcare costs)

1.      ISFMR relocation costs: support for sustaining those is a concern

2.      Personal Care thin (7 mil governor cut; 10 mil later cut)

a.       budget 3.2 mil but on track; no discussion of passing that to providers

b.      rate issues from DD-TO-DOA

3.      2006 - between 40-60 individuals off waiting list was proposed? List was proposed?  Unsure how this will be funded.

4.      Back lash of county ex run for governor, to make Milwaukee look bad?

D.     SLO rates & scale

1.      When is it going to be instituted

2.      guidance on new system

3.      no new meetings have been scheduled

4.      Due 9/19 and still items unclear

5.      SLO 9:30 AM UCP meeting 9/14

 

With move to 12th & Vliet - is this going to make it hard to access the services?
